About us

Independent non-profit networking platform for the composites industry

Ready to contribute to and benefit from progress in the Flemish composites industry?

Composites Cluster wants to strengthen and promote the Flemish composites industry by enabling networks, stimulating research and exchanging knowledge.

Our goals

Every day, we are strongly dedicated to:

  • promoting all aspects of composite technology;
  • increasing the innovative capacity of companies in a joint venture by facilitating and supporting the creation of new research projects and value chains;
  • accelerating the implementation of new or renewed products or processes;
  • increase the regional, national and international visibility of the Flemish composites industry.

Progress is gained by sharing knowledge, not hoarding it.

Our history

Composites Cluster became a division of SIM (Strategic Initiative Materials) Flanders on 1 January 2020. The organisation is a continuation of the IBN Composites (Innovative Company Network), that ran from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2019. At the time, the IBN was founded under the initiative of SIM and Agoria. Nowadays it operates as a separate division of SIM.
